  • Friday Night

Mum’s in Penang, fave sister has gone sailing, and the bf is out of town.

    What’s a girl gotta do?

    Boston Legal

Wahhh!!! I like! so much Boston Legal, and even more Alan Shore! But you have got to watch it to know what I mean. In not so many words (I am lost for words because it is a Friday night after a long week) – it’s absolutely hilarious, witty and very entertaining.

And then I came across this article about “How Free is Free-Range” and I felt ALL of EE-YEW!!! And GROSS!!! And then sad all at once.

Did you know??!!! That a chicken can live up to 10 years but we slaughter them at the age of 1 to 2 because they are not fertile anymore? The male chickens because they don’t produce eggs are slaughtered at an even younger age! Via selective breeding and growth stimulating drugs, a chicken can be full sized in less than TWO months! But full sized only in body where the meat is. Their hearts and lungs don’t develop fast enough and many die from diseases. As if that is not bad enough, their structure doesn’t grow fast enough either so they all have leg disorders! YUCK! So much for chicken drumsticks.

I am not even going to start on the cows and pigs and sheep because that is just too depressing. This weekend – I think I’ll only eat fruits and vegetables.

WOO-HOO!!! It’s going to be a long weekend!

    Selamat Hari Merdeka!

Malaysia is celebrating 51 years of independence.

  • The Michael Phelps Diet To 11 Gold Medals

Of course we all know it’s not easy to be an Olympic champion! What more! One that wins ELEVEN gold medals!

Not everyone can be 6ft 4in tall, have a wingspan – fingertip to fingertip – of 6ft 7in, and weigh 192lb – most likely all muscle weight!

Apart from swimming and traning, I can imagine Michael Phelps spends a lot of time eating.

    This is his daily diet:

    1. Three fried-egg sandwiches …

    10 large eggs

    White bread, extra-thick sliced

    Olive oil, 500ml

… accompanied by cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and mayonnaise

    Cheddar, 600g

    Round lettuce

    Plum tomatoes, 500g

    Onions, 1kg

    Olive oil, 500ml

    Mayonnaise, 400g

    2. Two cups of coffee

    3. Omelette with five eggs

    4. Porridge

    Porridge oats, 1kg

    5. Three chocolate-chip pancakes

    6. Three slices of French toast

    7. Pasta – about 500g’s

    8. Two ham and cheese sandwiches

    9. 1,000 calories of energy drink (approx seven bottles of Lucozade Sport)

    10. Pasta – another 500g’s

    11. Pizza – Cheese feast with stuffed crust, 465g

    12. Another 1,000 calories of energy drink (approx seven bottles of Lucozade Sport)

    12000 CALORIES! A DAY!!!

    Amazing or what??!!!

  • When everything is what you want it to be

I was reading The Sun newspaper this morning while waiting for the lifts, and I was just overwhelmed with admiration. The strength, bravery, courage and willpower!

Natalie du Toit (South Africa) competed in the 10km swimming event at the Beijing Olympics. She has fulfilled her dreams.

This is despite having her leg amputated 7 years ago.

I got all teary eyed when I read this story. It was just a one paragraph story.

And then I searched for more stories – and when I read more stories here and here – I got all teary eyed again.

I was just choking with emotions, my chest tight from trying not to cry.

This story is truly humbling and inspiring at the same time.

At this moment, and for the next 2 weeks, if anyone is going to tell me they are having a hard time, I am going to fart in their face.

  • MIX FM’s Lie Detector Test – When telling the truth pays… In so many ways…

For the past 2 weeks I have been tuning in to MIX FIM for their lie detector test programme. This lie detector test is certified, and measures involuntary heartbeat, or when someone is lying.

I don’t really have the full details as I can only listen to the programme on my way to work – and don’t normally get to hear the end.

I wonder if the participants know what they are getting themselves in to.

But from my point of view, I am not sure if I would like to find out on national radio dirty dark secrets.

This woman found out from her husband’s PA that his business trip to Bali is not purely for work as he is going with his mistress.

This woman finds out her husband thinks she is fat.

This man got his colleague to admit that their boss is an incompetent idiot.

Another woman finds out that her husband is having an affair – and this is not the first time in their 11 years of marriage, and 3 kids later.

When people voluntarily subject themselves to pain… It makes me want to go outdoors, take a deep breath look at the heavens and ask WHY?! as I sob.

    Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

Easier said than done of course. I believe it’s in a woman’s nature to always want to ask why, why, why… and confirm their deepest darkest fear – only then to make up excuses as to why it’s really not happening.

    Women are confusing…

  • Loyalty

This story about Cash a German Sheperd who guarded his owner’s dead body for 6 weeks made me wonder what goes through a dog’s mind.

Cash survived on mice and rabbits – and kept the coyotes away from his master’s body.

The extent of a dog’s loyalty!

My two dogs are loyal to food. They like their food.
