Such words of wisdom.
It deserves a spot on my Passing Thoughts – since I am yet to come up with my new years’ resolution. And I can’t very well be CONTEMPLATING my New Year’s Resolution for the rest of the year.
Speaking of which – my new year’s resolutions just needs to be done! That is – after all better than perfect!
When done is better than perfect…
You’ll have pretty much to reflect…
When attacked learn how to deflect…
With love, joy, peace how to infect…

Thanks for the poem.
with love, joy, peace how to infect? that phrase does not make any sense.
Karen,
In this (last) line the word ‘infect’ is meant to be used and understood positively as being equivalent to ‘spread’, ‘share’, etc.
Even the word ‘how'(method) can also be changed [as desired] to ‘now'(time) if necessary to make more sense.
The main thing is to get “love, joy, peace” across to as many people as possible.
In poetry, as in the writing of poems, thers is the thing called ‘poetic licence’ which gives the poet certain leeway to express thoughts as words. Thus a poem has to be read and understood in total & not just in part(s).
Hope the above explanations are helpful.
Wishing you a Happy 2008 Chinese New Rat Year!
