  • 2 years and 6 months: My Little Dinosaur

    Dearest Theodore,

    SAMSUNG CSC

You really do think you are a dinosaur. You would roar at your sister knowing how much it annoys her.

You are in to super heroes. You have canny sense of humour. We get you, we do. You are hilarious.

You say the funniest things. When we tell you we have something for you, you reply ‘like what?’. We told you not to kick the car, and you reply, ‘This is not a car. It is a taxi’ – and you were right (somewhat), we were in a taxi.

You are always wanting to show us what comes out of your nose. Sensing your quiet at the back of the car, I asked you if you were asleep to which you replied, ‘No, I digging my nose. Poo poo in my nose, wanna see it?’

You love shooting. We took you to watch Swan Lake, when u started getting restless, you counted the swans and started shooting them. ‘One swan, shoot! Two – shoot! Three swan shoot!’
You would hide behind furniture in anticipation of your sister, and when she is close by, you jump out and shoot her too. She is not a fan of your shooting her by the way.

You also think you have magic powers. You raise your palm to the sky, and make a SSSSHHHHHHHH sound, and when asked what you are doing, you will reply ‘I using my magic powers! Ssssshhhhhhhh………’

You are such an affectionate child, I am not sure whom you take after. You say to me, ‘sleep top you’ before you go to bed, and you climb to fall asleep on top of me. You wake in the middle of the night to say ‘hold me tight mummy’. And this is my favourite – when I ask you where is my kiss, you will point to a spot on my face and shout ‘HERE!’ and you will follow to kiss that very spot. You are such a joy to be with, and you still have such an easy going personality, unless of course you really really want something done your way. Nothing will get in your way, and I think to myself, this is your pent up fury, this is your unflinching determination.

You are able to charm everyone with your smile. The joy and happiness you exude, your eyes are capable of lighting up a room! Your eyes, they literally laugh with joy.

Oh, and when you’re upset, your downturned mouth is quite a conversation piece too. That beautiful down turned pout of yours. I promise to find a picture of your down turned mouth and save it for you.

I love you, you little ball of joy and laughter and humour.

    Mama.

  • 35 weeks: Look how much time has passed!

    Dearest Chubba,

At the rate I am updating my blog, and events of you as a little baby, you will probably be a toddler soon.

I am still in awe at what an easy going baby you are. I really did hit the jackpot. Keeping my fingers crossed you will retain your pleasant disposition.

Hungry? Have never heard you complain. Tired? Maybe just a bit of whining.

Oh, but you do complain when we take something away from you, or when you drop your toy.

You’re crawling, but not very fast. You’re like a big clumsy elephant on fours. Stomping with your hands and feet to move all of the 3 inches. Sitting up, steadily enough, though its not your favourite position.Crawling to sitting, not a problem, be it you are sitting on your side, using your hand to prop yourself up.

Just two days ago we lowered your cot. You have started to pull yourself up to standing as soon as you wake from your nap.

Funny – seeing you have neither mastered sitting down or crawling.

Gosh! Your laugh! Is one of the most beautiful things I have heard. You giggle and chuckle so much, so heartily. And your smile, you always have one, you are always ready for a smile – even when you are tired, you will try to give us a smile.

I love you my little cutie-pie-chubba-wubba.

    Love, Mummy.

  • Week 23: First Solids

    Dear Theodore,

I can’t tell if you have a favourite yet.

But you would rather have the spoon in your mouth than for us to feed you.

You make the spoon look delicious.

  • Week 20: Too cute

    Dearest Theodore,

Sometime, about 3 weeks ago, you turned over from your back to your tummy. And now you have discovered you can flip many times back-tummy-back-tummy to move.

You are so pleasant in nature and such a joy to be with… Every time I see your smile and hear your chuckle, I fall in love with you again.

I didn’t know it was possible to love yet another so much. I am often overwhelmed by this feeling I have when I see you and your sister together. Oh, I even feel like that when I think of the both of you.

Speaking of your sister, you look at her with adoring eyes. And she probably doesn’t understand yet, but she is very happy when you smile at her. And when you cry, she will pat you and say, ‘Theo, don’t cry… Theo, don’t cry… Theo, don’t cry’.

You are still waking me up in the middle of the night… You have made me a zombie… Though for the first time last night, you actually slept through the night. Lets see how it goes tonight. Keeping my fingers and toes crossed.

I love you my little man.

    Mummy.

  • Week 16: If ever there was a smiley baby

    Dearest Theodore,

How did your PaPa and I get so lucky? We have been blessed with another super smiley baby.

I am so in love with your hearty chuckle. And I can never get enough of it. Even if it means I have to keep doing the same silly thing that triggered your laugh and chuckles.

You are so pleasant in nature, and just so – relaxed. Anything goes.

And I swear you do love the sound of my voice more than anyone else’s. Wink!

Thank you again for showing me this wonderful thing about loving to infinity.

    Love, Mummy.
