    Guess who I am?

  • Week 34: Learning something new everyday

    Dearest Olivia,

Last week you started crawling instead of creeping or floor-swimming.

A day later – you pulled yourself up. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands for a couple of seconds, I came back to see you standing up, grinning away! So I took a photo right away!

This week, there’s no holding you down or holding you back. You are ALWAYS on the go. You are a bundle of endless energy. You have your naps, wake up, all charged up and all ready to go-go-go.

You are pulling yourself up on anything you can grab a hold on. You cannot sit still for even a minute. While you were in my tummy, I envisioned us sitting together in the afternoons, with you tucked snugly in my lap, and I am reading to you one of my favourite stories – OH! How wrong I am! My little energy ball… Little Energizer Bunny… That goes on-and-on-and-on…and-on…

My little girl – you cannot imagine the fun I am having with you! The joy you bring to me and your PaPa, little Miss Sunshine.

    I love you.

    XOXO, Mummy

  • Week 32: My Little Big Girl

    Dearest Olivia,

Look at you now – all grown up. Mummy loves dressing you up in pink dresses and skirts… and more dresses. This photo was taken before your hair trim, your long-ish wispy hair with little ribbons in them.

Congratulations to you – you are very mobile now. Creeping on your belly from one end of the room to the other, you prefer exploring and playing by yourself, and prefer this to being carried or sitting on laps.

Just when I thought it is such a pleasure to feed you because you eat everything we give you, you decided this week that you would rather have a preference. When we feed you something you don’t like – you would just gag and spit it out, and clamp your mouth shut, and turn away. When we feed you something you like, you would wait mouth wide open in anticipation for more and more, your arms flapping up and and down in anticipation.

I look at you, and I feel I can faint from cute-ness… You little bundle of ridiculous-ness, joy, and baby smells. I can never tire of cuddling you.

I love you my little precious one.

    Love, Mummy.

  • Week 28: Turning over too much

    Dearest Olivia,

I am possibly enjoying the last of your somewhat non-mobility for now.

You have started turning over too much, and you have started creeping on your belly too fast.

You do not seem fussy with food, apples – ok. Pears – ok, sweet potato – ok, spinach – also ok! (though I had a taste of it and thought it was quite yuck), carrots, peas, plums, baby rice, avocado – bring it on! Fantastic.

You even know how to chew with NO TEETH on a rice cracker!

You have nailed your routine now! Finally! Yipee for mummy! And everybody!

You went swimming – you’re such a natural. Though a tad nervous at the beginning.

Shopping? You love it! In the baby Bjorn facing out – you move your legs as if you were really walking on your own. Left-right-left-right-left…

I can’t get enough of cuddling you, and each time I do, I inhale deeply to take in as much of your baby essence as I can.

You seem to like being cuddled as much as I like cuddling you. I love you my little precious one.

    XOXOXO, Mummy.

  • Week 26: Smiling

    My dearest Olivia,

You wake up smiling… You smile when you hear your name…  You smile when you see me.

I thank God everyday for having blessed me and your PaPa with such a smiley happy baby. You smile at everyone too – and I can’t remember a single person who would not smile back at you. So infectious your smile is!

I started you on solids at the end of August, and you took on to solids so naturally. No fussing… you just ate away, and even asked for more! Oh, but I didn’t give you more.

You went through a phase of bubble blowing and spitting… just before you go to bed at night, and when you didn’t like something… Pftttt-pftttt-pfttttt!!!!! You would go… on and on and on for 5 minutes at the least!

We went for your first holiday to Penang… you slept all the way there, and all the way back on the plane. No fussing. Phew! Mummy was worried you would cry all the way!

This week, you also learned how to fake cry. You would make like you are crying and distressed – and there would be no tears… and when you figured no one was listening, you would actually stop and take a break. Just so we’d pick you up or when you were bored… or didn’t like something.

You are also a very active baby and love love love to kick-kick-kick!

You have also started sitting up by yourself and you don’t like lying down on your back too much now. And you don’t even mind tummy time that much anymore because you get to turn in circles, and move backwards!

Thank you my gorgeous baby girl for being such a good baby, and making my first experience at mummy-hood so enjoyable. Mummy loves you, and treasures each moment I spend with you.

    Love, MaMa.
