  • Week 48: Whenever you are ready

    Dearest Olivia,

You have been cruising for almost three months, and you do not seem ready to walk. And I am in no hurry for you to walk either. Whenever you are ready. Because when you start walking, then you might not want me to carry you anymore.

Once upon a time, it took you more than half an hour of feeding before you have had enough. Now, all you need is five minutes. And I wish I could get you to suckle a little longer just so I could cuddle you a little more.

Just a month ago, you would only fall asleep in my arms. And I let you because I love cuddling you in my arms. You just suddenly decided you would rather twiddle your thumbs while lying next to me and then drifting off to dreamworld. You are no where close to falling asleep by yourself because you always want me there next to you.

You are just a bundle of laughs now, and everyone can’t seem to get over how adorable you are. And of course we are all biased.

You stick your tongue out when we tell you to show us your tongue.

You love Queen….. and you dance to the beat, with one hand raised above your head, and you sing along ‘ahhhhhh’. You don’t sing very well at the moment.

You smile a lot, and with your eyes… Like you really meant the smile. Your cheeky mischievous smile! That still allows you to get away with anything!

I don’t think I will ever tire of saying I love you – so much!

And you are going to turn ONE in 30 days!

    Love, Mummy.

While we bring in the new year with close family and friends…

  • The Michael Phelps Diet To 11 Gold Medals

Of course we all know it’s not easy to be an Olympic champion! What more! One that wins ELEVEN gold medals!

Not everyone can be 6ft 4in tall, have a wingspan – fingertip to fingertip – of 6ft 7in, and weigh 192lb – most likely all muscle weight!

Apart from swimming and traning, I can imagine Michael Phelps spends a lot of time eating.

    This is his daily diet:

    1. Three fried-egg sandwiches …

    10 large eggs

    White bread, extra-thick sliced

    Olive oil, 500ml

… accompanied by cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions and mayonnaise

    Cheddar, 600g

    Round lettuce

    Plum tomatoes, 500g

    Onions, 1kg

    Olive oil, 500ml

    Mayonnaise, 400g

    2. Two cups of coffee

    3. Omelette with five eggs

    4. Porridge

    Porridge oats, 1kg

    5. Three chocolate-chip pancakes

    6. Three slices of French toast

    7. Pasta – about 500g’s

    8. Two ham and cheese sandwiches

    9. 1,000 calories of energy drink (approx seven bottles of Lucozade Sport)

    10. Pasta – another 500g’s

    11. Pizza – Cheese feast with stuffed crust, 465g

    12. Another 1,000 calories of energy drink (approx seven bottles of Lucozade Sport)

    12000 CALORIES! A DAY!!!

    Amazing or what??!!!

  • MIX FM’s Lie Detector Test – When telling the truth pays… In so many ways…

For the past 2 weeks I have been tuning in to MIX FIM for their lie detector test programme. This lie detector test is certified, and measures involuntary heartbeat, or when someone is lying.

I don’t really have the full details as I can only listen to the programme on my way to work – and don’t normally get to hear the end.

I wonder if the participants know what they are getting themselves in to.

But from my point of view, I am not sure if I would like to find out on national radio dirty dark secrets.

This woman found out from her husband’s PA that his business trip to Bali is not purely for work as he is going with his mistress.

This woman finds out her husband thinks she is fat.

This man got his colleague to admit that their boss is an incompetent idiot.

Another woman finds out that her husband is having an affair – and this is not the first time in their 11 years of marriage, and 3 kids later.

When people voluntarily subject themselves to pain… It makes me want to go outdoors, take a deep breath look at the heavens and ask WHY?! as I sob.

    Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

Easier said than done of course. I believe it’s in a woman’s nature to always want to ask why, why, why… and confirm their deepest darkest fear – only then to make up excuses as to why it’s really not happening.

    Women are confusing…
